Jo Messmer Obituary

Jo Amelia Messmer (Szabo), age 92, died Tuesday January 15, 2019, at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor.
Founding member and very active at St. Philip the Apostle Parish. Volunteered at Mt. Carmel East Hospital for 15 years.
She was the youngest of 7 children born to Orban & Mary Szabo. Preceded in death by husband, James and son, Michael.
Survived by daughter-in-Law Karen Messmer; daughter Patty (Greg) Chalfant; grandchildren Christopher (Jenelle) who brought such joy to his grandmother by often accompanying her to the Symphony and the Conservatory, Curtis (Shelly) Messmer, Brian (Mindy), Adam (Sarah), Andy (Lili), Donald (Brittany), Nathan (Stacy), Hannah Chalfant, Katie (Taz) Newsome; 27 great grandchildren; many loving nieces, nephews and very dear friends. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to all the compassionate caregivers from Mt. Carmel Hospice and Mother Angeline McCrory Manor.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday 10:00 a.m. January 19, 2019 at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 1573 Elaine Rd. where friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Burial St. Joseph cemetery.
