Helen Mildred (Habiyanec) Kuhn, born November 2, 1923 peacefully passed into the loving arms of our Lord on October 23, 2017, after struggling for several years with dementia and cancer. Through it all she never lost her sense of humor and ability to throw out ‘zingers’. She loved sitting around the kitchen table playing euchre with her husband ‘Bud’ and sons, Bob and Rick. Helen and Bud married on October 30, 1948 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Helen was born to Thomas and Mary (Holer) Habiyanec both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Kathryn (Habiyanec) Boos and Mary (Habiyanec) Ray. Survived by her husband of 69 years, Stanley ‘Bud’ Kuhn; daughter Patricia (Stephen) DeLong, of Berrien Springs, MI; sons Robert of the residence, Richard (Sharon, deceased) of Pickerington, James (Becky) of Lancaster and Jack (Marie) Kuhn of Pickerington; grandchildren Christopher DeLong, Leslie Morrison (Todd), Matthew Kuhn (Jessie), Brandon Kuhn (fiancée Lorinda), Michael Kuhn (Amanda), Jackie Ulrich (Joe); great-grandchildren Devon and Allison Morrison (Leslie), Annabelle and Jude Kuhn (Matthew), Hailey Kuhn (Michael). Helen also has 2 step-granddaughters; 9 step-great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Betty Clifford as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helen served as president of the Damen Sektion of the Columbus Maennerchor from 1978-1980. She also served as vice-president of the Senior Citizens Club of Christ the King Catholic Church from 1995 to 1997 and as president from 1997 to 2000. Helen was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish where the Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday by Fr. James Klima. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Prayer Service 4 p.m., at the Egan-Ryan Funeral Home 403 E. Broad St. The family wishes to express their extreme gratitude to the nurses and nurses’ aides of both Hospice of Central Ohio and Interim Health Care for the exceptional care that they provided to Helen over the past year or so. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio.
