Welcome to the memorial page for

Gerald "Bud" & Rose Mary Susil

November 1, 2017

Such was their love story that these sweethearts left this world less than 14 hours apart after 70 plus years of marriage, holding hands through their final days together: Rose Mary on October 31, 2017 and Bud on November 1, 2017. Rose Mary was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and so much more to so many over her 90 years on earth. Born to George and Merle Berwanger on May 15, 1927; Rose Mary is survived by her dear sister, Rita (Archie) Sandusky and predeceased by siblings, George (Lois) and Bob (Ardie) Berwanger. Bud was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, carpenter/contractor and athlete extraordinaire, honored in the Bexley High School Athletic Hall of Fame; he also was much more to so many over his 89 years on this earth. Born to Alex and Gladys Susil on May 21, 1928; Bud is survived by his dear sister, JoAnn (Wayne) Hanners and predeceased by siblings, Dan (Kap) Susil and Irene (Grover) Bozman. Bud and Rose Mary were sadly predeceased by their loving children Steve (Mary), David, Kevin, Mary and grandson Nathan (Katie). They are survived by their devoted children Kathy (Tim) O'Connor, Karen (David) Jorgensen, Sheila (Don) Webster. Also carrying on their sweet legacy are granddaughter, Stephanie (Tyler) Richardson, whom they raised; plus other grandchildren Jim (Alicia) Albini, Nikki (David) Miller, Zach (Nicole) Susil, Greg (Daryna) Susil, Kere (Jimmy) Duffey, Jessica (Justin) Yost, Josh (Alissa) Zahorchak; stepgrandchildren, Craig (Karen) Webster, Jessica and Keith Jorgensen; great-grandchildren Jack (Camella) Albini, Tony Albini, Taylor and Zack Miller, Nick, Ethan, Josh, Caleb Yost, Tristan and Karlee Duffey, Finley, Amelie, Lucia, Ivy Zahorchak; step great-grandchildren, Michael, Amy, Reagan Webster, Eli and Ethan Jorgensen; plus great-great-grandson Braxton Albini; great-great step grandchildren Christian, Colin, Cameron; and many loving nieces and nephews. Per Bud and Rose Mary’s request, a family Mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation, if you wish, may be made to a favorite charity or Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O.Box 430, Newark, OH 43058 . There are not enough words in any language to express the love and esteem held for this incredibly kind and caring couple who adored their family beyond measure. They are in our hearts forever. “And now these three remain: Faith, Hope, and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.”
