Elizabeth “Betty” (Simpson) Ryan, age 88, went to be home with the Lord on November 5, 2017 surrounded by loving family. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Arthur “Dude” Ryan, her brother, Charles “Duke” Simpson and parents, Charles and Olive Simpson. Survived by brother, Thomas (Gloria) Simpson of Cameron Park, CA, Sister-in-law, Donna Hickey; children, Deborah (Donald) Burns of Duluth, GA, Ransom (Sharon) Ryan of Mt. Gilead, OH, Erin (Ralph) Berger, Cynthia Rainier, Mary “Happy” (Jim) Samler, Bridget (Harold) Ryan Evans; grandchildren, Sean (Lexi) Burns, Erin (Bryan) Barfield, Kellie, Kaitlyn, Keegan Ryan, Ryan (Alison) Rainier, Colleen (Seth), Danny, Connor, Shannon Samler, Megan Ryan; step-grandchildren Brian (Becky) and Michelle Berger; 15 great-grandchildren; lifelong friend Patty King Booth and numerous other relatives and friends. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy and attended The Ohio State University. She was a member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church for over 50 years. She was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Friday at the EGAN- RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL 4661 Kenny Road. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel 6440 S. High St. Entombment St. Joseph Cemetery.
