Carol Ann Devine Higgins, 88, died Sunday, September 10, 2017.  Carol was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Matthias Parish. She was born in Columbus on April 11, 1929, to Richard and Mabel (Cook) Devine. She was preceded in death by her parents; her dear husband Bob “Butch” Higgins; her son and daughter-in-law Jim and Linda Higgins; sisters Kathleen Devine and Gail (Skin) Malloy; brothers James Devine, Richard Devine and Dennis Devine; dear aunt Mary Ann Devine Claprood, and other family and friends.  She is survived by her children Mary Higgins, Michael (Nancy) Higgins, Tim (Karen) Higgins, Dan Higgins, Ann Kennedy and Jane (John Johnson) Hodge; her grandchildren Mike, Molly(TJ Eberly), Patrick, Jamie, Jeremy, Sarah, Bryan, Megan, Erica (Ryan Mason) and Ian; 8 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Charlene Devine, Pattie Devine, Delores Harrison, and Patty Higgins; uncle James (Brenda) Devine; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Carol graduated from St. Joseph Academy, Class of 1947, and she attended St. Mary of the Springs College (now ODU).  She worked at Ohio National Bank  and Bank One.  Carol was a national lifetime member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and Amvets Auxiliary Post #89. Calling hours will be Friday, September 15   from 2-4 and 6-8 at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. Broad St, with Hibernian Service at 7:45.  Funeral Mass will be Saturday, September 16, at 9:30 at St. Matthias Parish, Celebrant Father Raymond Larussa.  Internment following at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne OH.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to JOIN, 578 E. Main St., Columbus OH 43215.
