Patricia Catherine McDonald Stapleton, 80, of Grandview died peacefully on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 holding the hand of her true love and husband of 63 years, Ralph. Patricia was born December 22, 1931 to the late Harvey and Agnes (Barrett) McDonald in Columbus, Ohio. Pat is preceded in death by her son Ralph Bernard, brother Richard (Catherine) McDonald and sisters Mary (Jerry) Reintjes and Ann McDonald. Along with her husband Patricia is survived by her children, Debbie (Dale) Oxley, Sharon (Bob) Kiyohara, Thomas K. (Patty), Brian, Molly (Patrick) Byrne, Matthew (Stephanie), Megan (Mark) Dempsey. Mom was our best critic and our biggest champion. Patty will be dearly missed by her surviving sisters Rita Meder and Rosemary (Herb) Larkins. She was adored by her grandchildren: Sarah, Stephanie, Ralph (Katie), Kathleen (Scott), Jason (Kori), Sean, Christina (Mark), Patrick (Jodi), Michael, Emily (Eric), Brian Kelso (Michele), Allison (Brady), Bridget, Natalie, Celia (Geff), Julian, Conor, Hannah, Ian, Michaela, Leah, Matthew, Mary Kate, Riley, Alex and Olivia (See you later, Duck). Loving GG to great-grandchildren Macklin, Trevor, Ava, Norah, Leopoldo, Evelyn, Kylie, June, Keegan and Rowan along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may visit 2pm-5pm Sunday August 5th at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME 403 E. BROAD ST. Columbus, Ohio. Funeral Mass 10am Monday, August 6th at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church 1420 Grandview Ave, Msgr. Cody Celebrant. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. We wish to thank the wonderful staff at the Kobacker House for the exceptional care they gave to Patricia and her family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kobacker House 3595 Olentangy River Rd or, if you wish, her favorite color of flower was yellow. “Ok guys, it’s time to go”.
