Yoneko Still, beloved mother and dear friend, was born in Japan on January 17,1946, and died Monday August 14, 2017, in Columbus Ohio. Yoneko was a true life Wonder Woman to so many. Yoneko worked hard her entire life. She was a Jill of all trades, from a nurse in Japan to a restaurateur in Ohio. Yoneko was an avid gardener, amazing cook, lover of all animals and passionate about sports. Yoneko showed all that knew her, unparalleled and incredible kindness and generosity. Yoneko was so inspiring and such a role model, as well as, a pillar of strength to many that had the pleasure and honor of knowing her. Although Alzheimer’s robbed Yoneko of many of her talents, it could not steal her light that she shined on all those who knew her. Her light will continue to shine through her memory. Yoneko wasn't the first person cured of Alzheimer’s disease, but we truly believed that her struggle and all the lives that she touched, will hopefully inspire more people to find a cure. Yoneko is survived by daughter Bonita Still; nieces and nephews including Bonnie (Dan) Bowes, John (Angel) Still and Edward (Lori) Still. Friends may call Friday August 18, 2017 from 3-5pm at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. Broad St. where the Funeral Service will be Saturday August 19, 2017 at 2:30pm. Private burial later. In lieu of flowers please send donations in her memory to Alzheimer's Association , www.alz.org .
