Suzanne Ramey Carr, age 90, died peacefully in her sleep on February 2nd after a brief illness. A proud Hoosier, she was born in Indianapolis on February 22, 1927 to George Lawrence and Marjorie Sheridan Ramey, graduated from Briarcliff Junior College and Butler University with a degree in education. A resident of Bexley for over 60 years, she taught preschool in the Columbus area for over 22 years. Suzanne was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and volunteered her time as a docent at the Franklin Park Conservatory, Mt. Carmel East Hospital, and many other organizations including countless hours helping at her children and grandchildren’s schools. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William F. Carr. Survived by five children and many grandchildren: Tom (Peggy) father of Scott (Kristin) and Jaime (Scott) Gurney; Larry (Sibyl) father of Sheridan (Tyler) Miller, Shannon (Jake) Swint, and Erin (Calvin) McCammon; Joanne (Noble David) Wonsetler mother of Noble Brian and Betsy; Margie (Dr. Ron) Gibson, mother of Ron Jr., Katie, and Kristie; and Andy (Keri) father of Elias, Bennett, and Kieran, stepfather of Linda (David) McCaulley, Wyatt, Dylan, Emily, and Ryder Pierce. Nine great-grandchildren, with one on the way: Ellie, Kelsey, and Brady Carr; Annie and Maggie Gurney; Colston and Anderson Miller; Esther Grace McCammon; Everly Charlotte McCaulley; and Baby Swint. Sister-in-law Patricia Wylie Carr, and dear friend Jean Goldsmith. Many close nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. Friends may call Wednesday 4-7 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. BROAD ST. and Thursday at St. Catharine Church, 500 S. Gould Rd. from 10-11:00 a.m. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Private burial later in Kenton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.
