Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Helena "Peggy" (Ceslaus) Sause died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, OH on October 26. She was born in 1942 in New Haven, CT and in 1960 entered the congregation of St. Mary of the Springs, now the Dominican Sisters of Peace. She earned her degrees from the College of St. Mary of the Springs (now Ohio Dominican University), University of Notre Dame, and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. She taught in schools in Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania and in the Columbus diocese at Christ the King. She also taught at the Colegio La Piedad in Puerto Rico. She was a missionary in Chimbote, Peru and was Co-Director of Centro Catalina in Juarez, Mexico. She was a Councilor on the Leadership Team for six years and was a tutor at the Siena Learning Center in New Britain, CT. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Helen Fryer Sause. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Morris.
Her body will be received at the Columbus Motherhouse on Friday, October 28 at 3:00 p.m. A Vigil of Remembrance Service will be held at 4:45 p.m. with the wake continuing until 7:00 p.m. The funeral liturgy will be held at the Columbus Motherhouse at 9:00 am on Saturday, October 29 followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery by EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 East Broad Street.
