Sister Mary Irene Lolli O.P.

Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Mary Irene Lolli died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, OH on Sunday, April 1, 2018.     She was born in 1925 in Strafford, PA and in 1952 entered the congregation of Saint Catherine de’ Ricci, now the Dominican Sisters of Peace. She earned degrees from the College of St. Rose and the Franciscan School of Theology.  She did Retreat ministry in PA, NY, and NM. She also was a Pastoral Minister in FL and NY.  In the 1960’s, she was Secretary General of her congregation. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sante Lolli and Irene Pachioli Lolli, her brother, Louis and her sisters, Angela Vidinsky, and Rosemary DeSanto.  She is survived by her brother, Lawrence, her sister Lucy Rankin and nieces and nephews. A vigil of Remembrance Service will be held on Wednesday April 4, 2018 at 4:45 PM at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel, Columbus, Ohio with the wake continuing until 7:00 PM. The funeral liturgy will be held at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel on Thursday, April 5 at 9:00 AM.  Burial will follow at a later date in Strafford, PA. Memorial gifts in Sr. Irene’s memory may be sent to the Dominican Sisters of Peace, Office of Mission Advancement, 2320 Airport Dr. Columbus, OH., 43219 or submitted securely at oppeace.org.
