Paul O'Neill Obituary

Paul Francis O’Neill, age 88 of Columbus, Ohio completed his earthly sojourn on March 15th. He was a retired fund-raising consultant and a member of St. Andrew Parish. He was preceded in death by loving wife of 54 years Ann Hannigan O’Neill; parents Bernard and Elizabeth Reilly O’Neill; sisters, Anne O’Neill and Margret Bergbrede; brothers, Bernard, John, Daniel and Dr. Phillip O’Neill; parents-in-law Dr. Martin (Madeline) Hannigan; brother-in-law Martin J. Hannigan; sister-in-law Kevin Mary Fuller of Laguna Woods, CA.  Survived by loving daughters Madeline (Frank) Fraas of Dublin, OH, Louise Reilly O’Neill of Alpharetta, GA, two beloved grandchildren Elizabeth and David Fraas; sisters-in-law Huberta O’Neill, of West Covina, CA, Elizabeth O’Neill of Milwaukee, WI, Mary (Graham) Ward of Wellesley, MA.  He is also survived by many fine nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. Paul was a proud former Pittsburgher and graduated from Duquesne University.  He joined the national fund raising firm Ketchum Inc. and worked on various fund-raising assignments mainly for hospitals and the Republican Party.  He joined Fuller Smith and Ross Advertising Agency as an Account Executive on the Alcoa account.  In Columbus, Paul was the Executive Director of the Ohio Republican Finance Committee.  He made it a point to visit all of Ohio’s 88 counties and made many friends for the Party.  Paul was chosen to be the First Director of Development for Mount Carmel Medical Center and Mount Carmel East Hospital.  He developed a very fine relationship with the medical staff.  Paul was a former board member of the Big Brothers of Alleghany County; Salesian Boys Club; Friends of the Josephinum and a member of the Serra Club.  Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Monday at Egan Ryan Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church (Reed and McCoy Road). Burial in Scared Heart Cemetery, Monongahela, Pa. later.
