Pamela Huddy Higgins, 78, died Oct 14th at Mt. Carmel East hospital after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
A Columbus native, Mrs. Higgins lived most of her life in Upper Arlington. She earned a B.S. and M.A. in art education, painting and drawing from The Ohio State University and taught art to elementary and junior high students for 32 years.
Higgins was involved in a variety of volunteer activities with the Upper Arlington Art League, Columbus Junior League, Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Kappa Alpha Theta House Corporation Board. She received the Golden Apple Award for her teaching accomplishments in 2006.
She is survived by her two children, son Martin of Narrowsburg, NY and daughter Hannah of Columbus, as well as her brother Mark Huddy and wife Beth of Columbus and nieces Clare, Mariel and Lauren and nephew Garrett Huddy. She is also survived by an array of life-long friends.
Higgins loved to travel, entertain and socialize, and paint landscapes and wall murals in her free time.
A Funeral Mass will be held for Mrs. Higgins at 10am on Monday, October 23rd at St. Andrew Church, 1899 McCoy Rd, Upper Arlington, OH 43220. There will be a visitation at the church before Mass at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
