Mary Frances P. Greely, 93, of Columbus, died peacefully at home on June 22, 2016 with the caring support of her family and Heartland Hospice. Frances was born in Columbus on January 30, 1923 to the late Mary and Clarence Everett Pinney. She was a graduate of Rosary High School and The Ohio State University. After graduating she married Robert (Bob) Greely and followed him as he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Wars. They then settled in Reynoldsburg, Ohio where they were early members of St. Pius X Church. She retired after teaching 2nd and 3rd grades for 18 years at Christ the King School of the Columbus Diocese. She loved to sew, bake, crochet, needlepoint, read, take walks, and watch sports, especially tennis. Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who loved playing cards, doing puzzles, and asking (and sharing) about her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Greely, and son, William R. Greely. She is survived by daughters; Linda (Doug) Buchanan and Beth (Chris) Mahler, daughter-in-law Sandy Greely, grandchildren, David (Elli), Don, Stacy (Jim), Bridget, Coleman, Carl, Emily, Laura, and Michael; great-grandchildren; Lauren, Hope, Raleigh, Gabe, Ashlynn, Mariah, Hope, Destiny, sister Margaret Long, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mass of Christian burial Monday, June 27, 2016 at 10:30 am at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel, 6440 S. High St. at St. Joseph Cemetery. Burial to follow. Msgr. David Funk Celebrant. Our family would like to sincerely thank the staff and nurses at the Woodlands of Columbus and Heartland Hospice for their dedicated care, especially to Nurse Emily.
