Marion O. Worley, Jr. age 71, Monday September 18, 2017. Born November 19, 1945 to Marion O. and Rita M. Worley at Mt. Carmel West. His father predeceased him in 2003. He graduated St. Charles Prep in 1963 (Ranked 17 of 70). OSU Mechanical Engineering BSME in 1968. University of Dayton MBA in 1979. He received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Signal Corp via ROTC in December 1968. He served as a Vietnam Era Veteran Kaiserslautern, Germany Company B Executive Officer 440th Signal Battalion. He is survived by his devoted wife Mary Ann, whom he married January 18, 1969; sons, Phillip (Jennifer), Christopher and Lawrence Worley; granddaughters, Melanie and Genevieve Worley; mother, Rita M.; brothers Roy (Denise), William (Gwen); sisters, Carol Wilson, Patricia Worley, Alice (John) Blanchard, Mary Catherine (Harley) McGee and Valerie (Joe) Kruger; brother-in-law, Thomas (Sharon) Plageman and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors. Marion retired from ODOT as a traffic Engineer in 1997 and worked for several private consulting firms until 2009. He played in the only meeting in football between St. Charles and Aquinas in the Fall of 1962 (#21 special teams); his best time for the marathon was 3:44:44 in 1983. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME 403 E. Broad St. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Pius X Church 1051 Waggoner Rd. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery. The family would like to thank Mt. Carmel East Palliative Care Unit and Mt. Carmel Hospice for special care and support.
