Cathy, I am so sad to hear your father passed away.  Thankful you have had great times with him, but can't imagine the hole in your heart with both your mom and dad gone.  My deepest sympathies to you all.

To Lou's family- Sue and I were saddened to hear of Lou''''s death.  He and I were members of the OSU Faculty Club "lunch bunch" and ate lunch there for many years at the "open table".  We enjoyed football and holiday parties at the club with he and Jewel.  Lou kept us enlightened with many stories such as how to fish from a fire tower for chipmunks with peanuts or trim pine trees for good lumber and many more.  We enjoyed biking Kelley''''s Island together-long for us and short for him- he hoped to join us again this summer.  Lou gave me a humorous send-off at my retirement party.  We give you all our heartfelt condolences.  We are sorry that we are not able to attend his services.  Sue and Ed Haering

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. DiOrio. I will always remember with fondness his stories about visiting our county of Noble with his friend, Woody Hayes. I knew Lou through our work with ORTA. You have my deepest sympathy.

To the Family of Lou DiOrio,  We extend our condolences and our deepest sympathy on your great loss.  Louie was our Chaney High School Classmate whom kept in touch at every Class ReUnion and when he could get away on our Monthly Meetings the 3rd Weds of the month at Denny''s for coffee and lunch.
We always reminiced about "The Good Old Days" and the Golden Years of Growing up together.  His cousins and family grew up in my Old Neighborhood on the West Side (Salts Spring Rd., Division St., Waverly, Argo Street).  The Sanders, The Fuscoe''s Frank & Tony and their families.
We talk often about his Chaney Friends, the Late Frank McPhee, Bob Steward, Dottie Rowbowtham and the many others.  His wife Jewel was very special.  We came to Columbus on occasion to visit with Louie and Jewel - He was a very proud person of his accomplishments (which we praised him for), a kind, noble, cordial and decicated community spirited.
and family man.  We will miss him daily.  Our prayers are with Louie, Jewel and family.
Stay strong and brave, have faith in our "Good Lord".
With Love and affection,  Al Chance and his Chaney High School Classmates.  to name a few who send their condolences & Love,  Joe & Helen Colonna, George & Fay Briel, Kay Kunovic, Nancy Remidio, Jack & Janet Smith, Mike Senechak, Ray Ong, Jean Scott, Harry Cadman, Don Main, Franny Woods, The Kerpsacks (Bob & Bill), John & Dorothy Kaglic, Jo Ann Kalmer, Joe Kucala .   A few may attend services in Columbus, but like many as myself, can''t physically make it/the distance makes it prohibited.   We will remember Louie and his beautiful family in our thoughts and prayers.  With God''s Blessings "The Chaney High School Classmates from 1949 Jan. & June 1949.

DiOrio family,
You are in our thoughts and prayers.  Dr. Lou was so much more to our family than just Michael's boss.  He was his mentor, confidant and wonderful friend.  He will be missed.  There are no words to express the sadness we feel at his passing.  The only consolation is that he is now sitting down at the table with Jewel enjoying some of her famous homemade pizza.

Dear Lou, Doug, and Cathy,

I am truly sorry to learn about your father’s death. Please accept my deepest condolences.

I am forever grateful that your father was very instrumental in hiring me for my first academic position. He was an excellent mentor who truly exemplified what it meant to be a university professor.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult and sad time.  Uncle Lou was my godfather, not just my uncle.  We will miss him greatly.  We will always be thankful and carry wonderful memories about the the little speech he made at his brother's 90th birthday(Uncle Tony).  He always did nice things like that.

You have our sympathy and prayers.
