Juanita Elizabeth Webb Walker, 94, transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home Friday June 16, 2017. This mother of four, Watson H. Walker, Jr., James Walker (1950-1998), Charles H. Walker (1951-2016) and Wilhelmina (Willy) Walker, believed deeply in faith, family and service. A lifelong member of St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church, Mrs. Walker was active with the St. Vincent DePaul Society and volunteered with numerous organizations: The Joint Organization for Inner City Needs (J.O.I.N.), American Red Cross and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of Central Ohio. Mrs. Walker dedicated her life crusading for the underserved, disenfranchised and the forgotten. Her true passion was caring for others. After graduating from Homer G. Phillips Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, MO, she married Dr. Watson H. Walker, Sr., and raised a family before working as a registered nurse at Doctor's Hospital, Mt. Carmel East Hospital and Thurber Village Nursing Home. Mrs. Walker is preceded in death by loving mother, Effie Louise Vaughn Webb, father, James Chelsea Webb, Jr., brothers, Gayle Hiawatha Webb and James Chelsea Webb, III, sister-in-law Ruthie Webb White, and nephew, James Burrell Webb (Margaret). Her surviving family, son, Watson, Jr., daughter, Wilhelmina (Willy), daughter-in-law, Amanda, grandchildren, Nicolle, Katrina, Allison, Desiree and Carlton, and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins, are eternally grateful for all the support and kindness we have received. In lieu of flowers, your generosity supporting J.O.I.N. is greatly appreciated. Visitation 9 a.m. at St. Leo Catholic Church, 221 Hanford St. on Saturday, June 24, 2017.
