John P. “Jack” Hoeller, Sr., age 78, strengthened by the sacraments, entered new life on January 12, 2018. He was born on January 10, 1940 to the late John and Betty Hoeller in Cannonsburg, PA. Upon graduation from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, John served in the United States Army as a captain in Fort Hood, TX. John had a full career for 40 years in retail and mall development. John retired in 2004, but continued to consult in his professional field. He was a life-long avid Steelers fan. He leaves behind his loving wife, Eleanor “Ellie”, of 56 years. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemarie. He is survived by his sister, Theresa (Hermon) Vock and his brother, Edward (Jane) Hoeller. He will be missed by his five children, John, Jr. (Mason), Kristine (Tim) Bayer, William (Jennifer), Matthew (Jennifer), Mark (Marianne); and nine grandchildren, Tim, Jr. (Holly), Kate and Ellie Bayer; Peter, Ted, Hannah, Will, Jack, and Maddy Hoeller. Friends may call on Monday, January 15 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Egan Ryan Funeral Home Northwest Chapel at 4661 Kenny Rd. Columbus, OH 43220. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew’s Church at 1899 McCoy Rd, Upper Arlington, OH 43220 on Tuesday, January 16 at 11:00 AM. Military burial to follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a future date.
