Jeanne I. Young

September 9, 1918 ~ August 11, 2016 (age 97) 97 Years Old

Jeanne Isabel Morris was born in Columbus on September 9, 1918 to Mimi and Frederick Morris. She was the 3rd of five children. Beautiful and intelligent, she married her Rosary High School sweetheart Robert V. Young Jr.Jeanne raised 10 children with energy and passion. She ran the operation with superb organizational skills yet could emote like Patton at football games. Later at home she would darn socks until midnight or review report cards.  She highly valued education and instilled a sense of achievement in her young subjects. She had a career also: Office Manager for the City Of Columbus, Franklin County Asst. Zoning Administrator, Realtor at Scarlet & Gray Real Estate, and Administrative Assistant at The Pontifical College Josephinum.  She travelled to Canada, Mexico and Europe.  She adored her 4 dachsunds: Tekkel, Tar Baby, TJ, and Sir Stanley. Gone in advance of Jeanne are her husband of 60 years Bob; siblings Marjorie, Bill, Rita, and Don; and son Jeffrey.  She is survived by her children, Robert (Leny) Young, Michael (Ann) Young, Diana (Thom Tyson) Young, Barbara (Frank) McCarthy, Andy (Susie) Young, Christopher (Elaine) Young, Theresa (Terry) Finneran, Richard Young, and Denise (Robert) Cook; 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Road.  Mass of Catholic Burial Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church (20 East Dominion Blvd., Clintonville) where Jeanne was a member. She was also in the Third Order of Carmelites. Private burial will take place at a later date at Resurrection Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Capital City Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Ct, Hilliard, OH 43026.
