Ernest Pisko, 95, of Columbus Ohio, formerly of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on
January 19 with his family at his side. He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio the
son of Hungarian immigrants. A veteran of WWII, Ernie served as a Boatswains Mate
Second Class on PT Crash Boat C-9450, a Navy Air Sea Rescue boat in Hawaii. He
and his crew received commendation for saving the lives of 86 downed pilots. Ernie was
a mechanic at Inland Seas Boat Company and Venetian Marina in Sandusky for over 40
years. He proudly served the Norwalk VFW post as Commander and Vice Commander
in the 70s.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years RoseMary (Myers). He is survived by his
two daughters Diane (Pisko) Benich of Atlanta and Deborah (Pisko) Mosko of
Columbus. He is also survived by four grandchildren Nicole Benich Dickens, Beau
Benich, Natalie Mosko and Nicholas Mosko, as well as five great grandchildren. Private
