Derrell B. Hauser, age 89, Friday November 3, 2017.  Survived by wife Jo Anne; children Bud (Rita), Bradley (Kim), Denise (Steve) Torrell; daughter-in-law Susan Hauser; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother Mel (Alberta) Hauser.  Preceded in death by son Christopher Hauser Sr, brother Don (Grace).  Derrell’s priorities were his Catholic faith, family, and country.  He was a longtime supporter of Christ the King and St. Matthew Parishes.  Himself a graduate of St. Charles Preparatory, his children attended Bishop Hartley and St. Charles, both of which he supported over the years working bingos and other fundraising events.  He was completely devoted to JoAnne, his bride of 66 years, the center of his world.  Together they provided role models of love, commitment, and faith.  He graduated from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis in 1951 (Beat Army!) and served at sea during the Korean War.  Colleagues remember him as “the nicest guy” with impeccable integrity.  “Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody is looking.”  Friends may call Monday 4-7 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. BROAD ST.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church. 2770 E. Livingston Ave. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Chris Hauser Sr. Memorial Fund through the Catholic Foundation at 257 E. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43215.
