Dennis Gittrich, age 65, passed away unexpectedly at home May 23, 2016.  He was born and raised in Tulsa, OK to the late Albert and Helen Gittrich.  He received his B.S. in Education and Masters in History from the University of Tulsa.  Dennis was a longtime employee at the Columbus Convention Center.  He never met a stranger, loved to tell stories and if you ever wanted to know a good place to eat or needed a cigar recommendation, he was your man.  Dennis was an avid chess player…..P-K4, N-KB3! He is survived by his son, Eric (Jenifer Lourens); stepson, Paul (Meghan Scheetz) Schneider; grandchildren, Madison and Jaden; sister, Joyce (Mike) Reid; brothers, Albert Gittrich, Gene (Marcie) Gittrich and Larry (Margaret) Gittrich; longtime girlfriend, Judy Andrews and her children, Larry, Charles, Henry, Virgie and James; many nieces, nephews and friends.  Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 East Broad Street and on Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. where a Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 a.m.  Burial to follow at Arlington Field of Honor Cemetery.
