Dear Cathy-
News takes a while to get to Florida, and I was so sorry to hear of Mike's death. Many years have passed and miles travelled since he and I worked together, and since we all shared more youthful, idyllic days in Clintonville. I remember Mike as a great coworker and as utterly devoted to you and his family. May he rest in peace and rise in glory. God bless you until we meet again.
Peace,
Becky

I worked with Mike for over 27 years. Over the last few days as friends and co-workers have shared stories and memories of him, I have realized what a true gift it was to know him. He was a friend, a mentor, an inspiration, humble and strong, and a living example of goodness and kindness. We shared a love for dogs and had many conversations about Chance and Shadow - and about everything else. You know how it was with Quinn - a short conversation was not as easy feat. We would start talking about one thing - and the next thing you know, we had covered everything from his first date with Cathy, to his favorite car, to current news. I have a bulletin board of Dilbert cartoons that he shared with me over the years. And those silly spider rings that he got such a kick out of. But what he loved most of all was his family. Cathy and Michael, he loved you so powerfully that when he spoke of you, the love just radiated from him. He left much too soon but the gift of knowing him will remain with all of us that were fortunate enough to know and love him.

God blessed all of us with Mike Quinn. I enjoyed his mentorship and friendship these last 6 years. I benefitted from his kindness, caring and support as a younger attorney. He was a proud family man and he genuinely cared about his co-workers families as well. My children were always sent spider rings at Halloween from Mike every year. He also frequented the Peanut Shoppe and I heard stories of peanut pranks from times past. I wish I was there because I know I would have been his partner in crime. I plan to raise a glass of Irish Whiskey in his honor to say goodbye to my friend.

Dear Cathy, Michael, and family: I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Mike for many years at the Department of Commerce, and he was one of my favorite colleagues ever. He was not only a smart, thoughtful attorney, who was always generous with his time and advice, but he was a true friend who took genuine interest in those around him. I will never forget sitting in his office, talking about our children, or sharing a laugh over a Dilbert cartoon or the latest office craziness. We had in common a love of law, psychology, gardening, dogs, and most of all, family. Thank you so much for sharing him with us, his friends at Commerce, these past 38 years. If the measure of a man is how many lives he touches, Mike was truly one of the greatest. Mike - Goodbye, my friend. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Sending love & hugs to my sister and nephew and Mike's mom & brother(s). Mike is my brother-in-law. It was an honor to be on Mike's cheering squad throughout his earthly years, first through his gold cup races (such as the "Hospital Hustle" which I volunteered) and later through his personal challenges with cancer. I guess you could say Mike "took all things 'in stride'," and lived life with gusto. He was a good negotiator - taught me a thing or two. He was one whose action and expressions often spoke louder than words. May God rest Mike's ambitious soul and give him eternal peace in his heavenly home until he 'runs' to meet his loved ones again.

Mike will truly be missed by everyone he touched in his life. I worked with Mike at the Division of Securities for 9 years until my retirement and I truly thought Mike and I would retire together. Mike and I were two different people, I like to throw everything away and well, as I'm sure you all know, Mike liked to keep everything. I would hide something I wanted to get rid of and the next day, I'd come in and it would be sitting near his office. I'd hide it again and two days later, I'd find it somewhere else in the office. I finally learned to hide anything I wanted to dispose of in a locked room that he couldn't get in. I know Mike is in heaven these days, surrounded by every office supply and law book volume he can get his hands on. Mike was one of the kindest, thoughtful, and most gentle men that I've ever know. He would sit in my office and ask questions about my grandson and offer wise and gentle advice to help me figure out what to do in various situations. This is a man that fiercely loved his family, spoke about Cathy and Mike often and always had a smile on his face when he did. You were one of a kind MIke Quinn, I will truly miss you my friend.

Dear Cathy,
I did not have the pleasure of knowing your Mike but I am sure he was a wonderful man, husband and father- given his lovely choice in a wife. You are so dear and thoughtful to so many and you are so appreciated for all you contribute to our lives. We are thinking of you and wishing that your heart will mend as time passes.

Dear Quinn family: I am truly sorry for Mike's passing. It was an unspoken truth that Mike was a mentor of mine. He was so professional in securities litigation and had sound judgment and advice. I enjoyed his company during our lunches and appreciated his insights and support for my professional development. He often talked abut your son and how proud of him he was. I am so sorry I cannot attend the wake as I have family commitments that evening.

With all my sympathy,
Matt Lampke

Cathy and Michael: Nancy and I send our love and our prayers for you during this most difficult time. Mike was a keeper for the Y and I did not want to ever see him go from the Board. I truly appreciated his love of the Y and its Mission but more importantly his friendship. It meant a great deal to me to have him close most every day.

Deepest sympathy to Cathy & Michael. Always will remember Mike as a fantastic swimmer who always beat me out out of the water in a triathlon and I had to spend the rest of the rest race trying to catch him, many times, unsuccessfully. Mike was very generous and caring. Also had the pleasure of working with him a short time; he had a very sharp mind and provided thorough analyses. Mike will be dearly missed.

You were the older brother that taught and protected his younger siblings, always giving them someone to look up to. You were the son your parents watched with pride in the way you loved and treated your family, achieved professionally, gave back to your community and achieved with humility. You were the friend that others knew they could rely on and be inspired by. You are missed.

Rest my love. God (and the earthly lot of family & friends) is holding me in the palm of his hand until we meet again. You told many you wanted to be Tom to my Becky and, my valiant knight, you lived by the words of Walter Bagehot: "A great pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do". We all were blessed to have you in our lives. We will celebrate your life and raise a parting glass as you wanted. We love you - fare thee well
