Clarence Ivan “Chip” Large, age 71, passed away suddenly on February 9, 2016.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Ivan Large, Sr. and Mary Archer Large and his sister Mary Ritter.  Chip is survived by several nieces, nephews, friends and his beloved dogs.  He was born in Columbus and graduated from North High School in 1962.  He received his Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University and his Masters Degree in School Counseling from Xavier University.  He taught in the Lancaster and Upper Arlington School Districts and was a guidance counselor in the Rocky River School District.  He was a longtime active member of St. Agatha Catholic Church.  He loved music and was cellist in the Upper Arlington and Pasco County (FL) orchestras.  Friends may call Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at St. Agatha Church, 1860 Northam Road where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m.  A private burial will take place at a later date at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Agatha Church or the Capital Area Humane Society.
