Charles Ronald Grunewald

August 8, 1946 ~ November 13, 2017 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Charles Ronald “Ron” Grunewald, age 71, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 13, 2017, surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  He was born in Long Beach, California on August 8, 1946, the first child of Charles and TwyLah Grunewald.  After briefly serving in the Armed Forces, he graduated from Ohio University with his BS in Accounting in 1970.  He was the co-founder of Nartker Grunewald & Company, CPAs, which has grown to become Nartker Grunewald Eschleman & Cooper LLC in Dublin, Ohio.  He retired from there in 2014, after a forty year career as a CPA.  He was a member of the AICPA, an adjunct professor at Columbus State Community College, a past chairman of Columbus Catholic Social Services, a member of the Board of Development of the Pontifical College Josephinum, past president of the Condominium Association of the Cove Inn in Naples, Florida and a member of St. Brendan Church in Hilliard, Ohio.  Of his many accomplishments, Ron was most proud of his family.  He loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports, spending quality time with everyone at the family condo in Naples, Florida, and spending the weekends dining and playing cards with family.  Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and TwyLah Grunewald.  He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-seven years, Ruth Grunewald, his children, ReNae (Doug) Landenberger, Kimberly Grunewald and Christopher Grunewald, and his grandchildren, Jacob and KayLah Lacher, Aspen, Billy and Knight Fannin and Emily Landenberger.  He is also survived by his brother Richard Grunewald and his beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Thomas Sweeney and the Staff at Columbus Oncology and Hematology, Hospice of Ohio Health and Comfort Keepers who provided such excellent care in his time of need.  Visitation hours will be Thursday, November 16, from 4-7 PM, Wake Service 6:30 p.m., at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 4661 Kenny Road in Columbus, Ohio 43220.  The funeral mass will be Friday, November 17, at 10:30 AM at ST. BRENDAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 4475 Dublin Road, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Social Services of Columbus www.colscss.org and the Pontifical College Josephinum www.pcj.edu.
