Alva “Mac” McFarland, age 88, Saturday, November 25, 2017.  Born on September 4, 1929 in Columbus to the late Alva and Nellie McFarland.  Veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  Retired from Doctors North Hospital.  Active member of the American Legion, AMVETS, Eagles and many other organizations. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, LaVerne McFarland.  He is survived by his son, Donald (Tami) McFarland; estranged children, Martha Weaver and Charles McFarland; grandchildren, Carrie, Shane, Jonathan, Angel, Bobby, Carrie and Angel; several great-grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.  Friends may call Monday, November 27 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 East Broad Street.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 28 at 9:00 am at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel, 6440 South High Street.  Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
